Food hunting adventures in the Itria Valley

This morning experience first-hand one of Puglia’s most important treasures: olive oil! Visit one of the area’s beautiful “Masseria” to discover how olive oil has been made in this area since the bronze age. This visit provides a fascinating insight into olive oil production. We’ll walk the beautiful grounds of the estate and of course enjoy some olive oil tasting. 

Next visit a cheese maker for an insider’s look at the wildly indulgent burrata cheese. You will meet local cheese artisan Giorgio at his farm, where he will demonstrate the art of making fresh burrata and let you try twisting a knot of mozzarella or two! Enjoy a tasting lunch of local products in the family’s home on the farm

After lunch it’s time to try some of Puglia’s up-and-coming wines. At a little wine shop, full of character and in the heart of one of the Itria Valley’s most characteristic towns, our guide will lead you through a tasting of a range of the region’s best wines
