Orietta is a 3rd Level - Advanced Sommelier, a Certified Olive Oil Taster and Member of the Italian Registry, a Certified Expert in Honey Sensory Analysis and Member of the Italian Registry, a 2nd Level Chocolate Taster - International Institute Chocolier, as well as an Author and International Judge. Born and raised in Rome, Orietta has dedicated her life to food and food quality. Day 1Welcome to Sicily

Transfer from Catania Airport to check-in at your first lodging in the striking city of Ragusa, a.d. 1768 Boutique Hotel for the next 2 nights. Meet the group and Orietta and enjoy a welcome dinner at a traditional local osteria. Welcome to Sicily!


Day 2The Aromi Day

Our first stop is the Aromi Farm. This farm cultivates more than 120 different varieties of autochthon plants and aromatic herbs using old traditional methods of manual cultivation. We will meet the owner Enrico and sample the different varieties of herbs and discover their cooking use. The visit will conclude with a gorgeous lunch at the farm. In the afternoon we enjoy an olive oil tasting at a leading olive oil producer. Back in Ragusa, enjoy a walking tour of old city before dinner where you are free to dine at one of the city’s many eateries.


Day 3The Vineyard Day

Following check out this morning we visit one of Sicily’s vineyards for a tour an in-depth tasting of her famous wines. Then we head to the fishing village of Donnalucata where we will be meeting local host and food expert/ cookbook author Roberta who has devoted her entire life to Sicilian cuisine and is married to talented local chef Antonio. Lunch with Roberta & Antonio. In the afternoon check into the lovely country estate Masseria della Volpe for the next four nights. Dinner at the hotel


Day 4The Honey & Chocolate Day

This morning we visit the passionate Agosto on his bee farm for an insider’s look at the art of making honey. Lunch on your own back at the hotel if desired. In the early afternoon we head to Modica, the chocolate capital of Sicily and well known for its striking churches We will taste the chocolate made by the Bonajuto family who has been making chocolate since 1880. Cioccolato di Modica is the first chocolate DOP in the world. For dinner get busy in the kitchen with a hands-on cooking class with our friend Katia. A self-made home cook and expert in all Sicilian cuisine, we guarantee this evening will be a true culinary highlight.


Day 5The Syracuse Day

Syracuse is one of Sicily's most famous cities and is steeped in thousands of years of history. This morning we will stroll through the famer’s market and the old quarter of Ortigia then enjoy a short trip around the harbour on a local fishing boat – it’s the perfect way to experience the beauty of the old city from the water. After lunch at a local osteria we visit the UNESCO city of Noto including a stop at the famous Caffe Sicilia belonging to Corrado Assenza. If you have any room left, there is the option to dine at the hotel tonight (not included)


Day 6The Seafood Day

After a lazy morning we will stop in the beautiful fishing village of Marzamemi and enjoy an amazingly fresh and simple seafood lunch. Famous for its tuna fishing, this picturesque village is heavenly for its simplicity and authenticity. For our last dinner we head to the acclaimed Michelin star restaurant Accursio for a gourmet sensation.


Day 7Farewell

Our drivers will shuttle you to Catania Airport for your flight home or onward journey. Arriverderci!
